Install & open
Install the ToTa-Ai build on an Android 8.0+ phone and open it. You'll land on the Inbox with a few demo messages.
Grant notification access
Follow the in-app prompt to Settings → Notification access and enable ToTa-Ai so it can see WhatsApp messages.
Approve senders
As messages arrive, approve the contacts you want drafted in the Review Senders screen. Block the rest.
Open in chat & send
Open a draft, tap Open in chat, allow contacts access the first time, then read and send in WhatsApp.
Troubleshooting
When something misbehaves.
"Open in chat" only opens WhatsApp's home screen
That happens when ToTa-Ai can't resolve the contact to a phone number. Grant Contacts permission so it can match the sender's name, or open Review Senders, tap the contact, and set the phone number manually. Once a number is known, the chat opens directly with the draft pre-filled.
The draft opened the wrong chat
The sender name probably matched a different saved contact (common with nicknames or duplicate names). Open Review Senders, edit that contact, and set the exact phone number to override the lookup.
No drafts are appearing for new messages
Check that Notification access is still enabled for ToTa-Ai (Settings → Notification access) and that the sender is approved, not blocked, in Review Senders. Some phones revoke notification access after an update or battery optimization — re-enable it if so.
A group chat won't pre-fill the draft
This is expected. WhatsApp group chats can't be opened by a direct link, so for groups ToTa-Ai copies the draft to your clipboard and opens WhatsApp — open the group and paste it in.
Drafting fails or returns an error
Drafting needs a network connection and a working AI provider. If you see an error banner, check your connection, then try Regenerate. If your build uses your own API key, confirm it's set and has quota.
I want to wipe everything ToTa-Ai knows
Use Reset memory to clear conversations and contacts, or the hard reset option to wipe all stored data. Uninstalling the app also removes its local database.
